Karuna Community Sessions

August 6 - Introduction to Sowa Rigpa (free)

This session will be an accessible introduction to Sowa Rigpa (Traditional Tibetan Medicine). We’ll explore some of the foundational principles, including the Five Elements, the Three Humors, and the Three Energetic Channels. We’ll also learn and practice the Ninefold Purification Breath, a traditional breathing practice used to help balance the subtle energies of the body and prepare the mind for meditation.

August 13 - Kirtan (free)

Marla Pelletier will lead a Kirtan session. We will perform singing of ancient healing Sanskrit mantras, allowing our voices to be vehicles of transformation. Although this session is free, donations to Marla are appreciated.

August 20 - Book & Social Club (free)

Come having read part two of Peace Is Every Step by Thich Nhat Hanh. We’ll begin with a brief meditation, followed by an open discussion. Tea will be provided, and books are available for purchase at the studio. If you haven’t had a chance to read yet, you’re still welcome to join us!

July 30 - Sound Bath

Immerse yourself in the calming vibrations of a restorative sound bath. As you rest comfortably, the soothing tones of crystal singing bowls and other therapeutic instruments create a peaceful atmosphere that encourages deep relaxation, mindfulness, and a sense of balance.
